Sellit is a social media marketing platform that enables online merchants to drive significantly more traffic to their stores than by traditional marketing/advertising methods.

Press Release — Phoenix, AZ – Sellit is proud to announce AdPAKs, the latest in our suite of solutions for online merchants. Shop owners can now instantly turn their mini-shops created with Sellit into interactive advertisements which are distributed and displayed across the web. This product was designed for shop owners seeking an easy way to increase exposure for their products and services, improve customer interaction and drive new traffic to existing online shops.

An AdPAK enables a user’s mini-shop to be placed in thousands of different advertisements monthly with each placement leading consumers directly back to that specific shop. Sellit does the heavy lifting by providing any shop owner thousands of new eyeballs a month on their products with no research or work required by the user. Sellit’s extensive ad network and publishing partners will optimize placements to help merchants reach their targeted audience while increasing shop traffic. Over 36% of potential buyers across Myspace, Facebook and blogs who interact with Sellit technology convert or generate a lead and “click through” for these shop keepers. By properly using the Sellit social media marketing approach there’s a 6.36% chance consumers will interact with shop owner’s products comparable to a 1.99% chance when using a similar rich media product offered by Google’s DoubleClick.

“This kind of online exposure is typically reserved for Big-box retailers,” says Josh Manley, President and Co-Founder. “We’re offering these tools to an entirely new demographic. We look forward to helping shopkeepers on multiple platforms increase buyers and traffic to their stores. ”

Sellit is a social media marketing platform that enables online merchants to drive significantly more traffic to their stores than by traditional marketing/advertising methods. The platform enables users to turn their storefronts into mini-shops that can be distributed across the Web, advertise their mini-shop in an innovative and more effective way, and broadcast across all social media through one interface. The platform takes minutes to set up and is now available to CafePress Shopkeepers.

Sellit is privately held and based in Phoenix, AZ.

Mashable — An unfamiliar source sent us these, which claim to be screenshots of the upcoming Google Chrome OS.

Are they real? Who knows, but we’ll confess we kinda like them – super simple for a web-centric experience. They’ll probably turn out to be mockups from a kid in Delaware. Or pinched from an Engadget story published years ago.

Or something. We don’t care…they’re cool, and we’re only gonna keep prodding Google (Google) until we get to see the real thing.

Multi Channel Merchant — According to a March, 2009 Forrester report titled “The State Of Service Provider Customer Service”, the number of services offered by “service” companies is increasing, while the amount of money they are able to spend on customer service is decreasing.

Yes, lower cost channels such the Web, e-mail and instant messaging have offered some relief but many of the new “outposts” are poorly designed and often result in greater frustration than waiting in long phone queues.

To that end, there is a new breed of customer service that’s starting to evolve and it’s riding in on a white horse called “social.”

Yes, you may have heard of this phenomena, as it’s come in the form of support communities, third-party sites like Get Satisfaction and now through social networking darling, Twitter. The big question, however, is can “social” customer service help, or even potentially save the corporate function known as customer service?

Before we get too far down a path, we should discuss why customer service is arguably more important than ever.

For starters, so many products and services have become commoditized, other than price – which is not an insignificant factor. Customer service is one of the last things left that differentiates one company from another. Do it poorly, and your customers will leave.

Social media marketing is prevalent in the media and consumer products industries.

Examiner — Social media marketing is prevalent in the media and consumer products industries. I find it valuable to research organizations that have embraced Web 2.0 concepts to figure out why and how their organization saw fit to experiment with this form of social marketing. As I have explained in previous posts, determining the value of social media requires an understanding of objectives and the role interactive customer engagement plays into the overall strategy. However, after researching the tools that companies have chosen to utilize, I can usually figure out if they put thought into a strategy, especially their goal of social media.

Skittles is a great case study for several reasons:

    * Tackles legal issue up front – Legal disclaimers are used to absolve the candy provider of user-generated content that is found beyond the Skittles page. Visitors have to put in their birth date and agree to terms and conditions before they can continue.

    * Use of social networking vehicles – After agreeing to the terms, readers are redirected to a Skittles page on Facebook. There are over 1 million fans and the page features commercials and discussion forums to engage readers. In addition, readers can also take part in conversations facilitated by a Skittles Twitter page. Last, photos and videos are available via Flickr and YouTube. This collage of social media/networking tools are all available on the Skittles.com website.

The major pitfall that I have seen arise from this social activity and online communication is the amount of time required to manage all the different sites and means of interaction with others... Forums, Facebook, MySpace, blogs, Digg and more...

Social Net Daily — Are you stumped how to get a successfully start with social marketing? Is the social media phenomenon leaving you feeling overwhelmed? Have you mastered the art of blogging, but struggling with the traffic side?

If you’ve been working hard to progressively build your online business, but you’re feeling lost about how to take the next step – then Twitter is one social marketing option that you must to master!

The idea of social marketing and the web 2.0 phenomenon is not so new anymore… And if you have spent even a little time online, then you’ll have heard these terms being used by the marketing gurus. For many people time and knowhow stops their social marketing from taking off.

If this sounds like you and you are short of time and inspiration on how harness the power web 2.0 and social marketing – then Twitter could be the answer you are looking for! If you’re ready to get genuine results – without turning your life upside down or sucking away countless hours of your valuable time – then I can help you achieve your goals.

If you are serious about boosting your business with social marketing – I’m going to reveal to you…

The Most Effective Way to Confidence with Social Marketing

I’ve been working doing internet marketing and have followed closely the changes that have taken place as social marketing has taken center stage. The increase in social interaction online has presented massive opportunity for many people who are willing to get on board and embrace this phenomenon.

I’ve worked on a number of areas to master the different opportunities that the advent of web 2.0 has presented. The increase in the number of blogs, social media sites and other options available has grown and evolved dramatically during that time…

The major pitfall that I have seen arise from this social activity and online communication is the amount of time required to manage all the different sites and means of interaction with others… Forums, Facebook, MySpace, blogs, Digg and more…

There seems to be a growing number of ways to communicate and interact with others online… For those getting started it can seem like an overwhelming prospect.

As an online marketer I have used a number of methods to help to promote products and services and to drive traffic to websites. Understanding how to create positive communication and to use this wisely to boost businesses is what my work is all about – This is how I have come to find one answer that is ideal for those wanting to make their online marketing and interaction simpler and more effective….

One Application Takes The Hard Work Out Of Social Marketing…

Social marketing can be a very rewarding (and fun!) way to build your business… When you do this successfully, you will see more traffic, get better customer feedback and discover new information faster…. But getting started can be daunting.

With the countless theories and options available it would be possible to spend a limitless amount of time working on this – and most business owners and entrepreneurs simply don’t have the time to dedicate to this exercise…. The best application to achieve results that I’ve uncovered is Twitter – and I’m going to show you how to master this nifty little application!

Using Twitter can help you to:

Get better customer feedback – uncovering what visitors think of your website or what course of action they recommend

Direct targeted traffic – using Twitter you can drive more high quality and eager visitors to your webpages

Keep up-to-date on the latest news – get the latest scoops and a host of alternative information via the Twitter community

Network with others - find contacts with similar outlooks, opinions and interests from the many Twitter users

Alert your customers – with a Twitter feed set up correctly you can let customers and prospective buyers of new products and services (plus a whole lot more!)

Deliver up to the minute information – with Twitter’s tools that allow you to generate real-time comments via your mobile phone, desktop tools and so on,
Of course, these are all desirable things for internet marketers and online business operators – there’s no real surprises there.

The question most likely at the top of your mind is – how can I also achieve this? The same way we did with theses simple set-by-step Videos!

But what if your whole communications platform, your entire social media strategy, was based on Twitter? You’d have been SOL, to say the least, while Twitter was under attack.

Michelle MacPhearson — This week, Twitter was hammered by a DOS (denial of service) attack. I have no idea what that means, other than it’s some kind of server attack that’ll make your site go down.

So as part of this attack, Twitter was down for some time. If you could get on Twitter, tweets that seemed to go through didn’t actually appear in your follower’s timelines for hours.

No biggie, right? A minor inconvenience, not being able to use the service.

But what if your whole communications platform, your entire social media strategy, was based on Twitter? You’d have been SOL, to say the least, while Twitter was under attack.

You must never, ever rely on one service to get your message out.

Use Twitter? Great – it’s a fun platform for engaging readers, and if you’re interesting it’ll bring your site click-through visitors. But you shouldn’t be using JUST Twitter (or any other service) to communicate with your customers, readers or clients.

Yahoo announced several changes to the service, which should help keep it relevant, especially as more people head to sites like Twitter and Facebook to share links and track popular topics.

PiadContent — Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) is licensing its web search technology to Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT)—but it is holding on to its Delicious social bookmarking site, which offers one alternative way to find items on the web by sifting through sites that people have bookmarked. And on Tuesday, Yahoo announced several changes to the service, which should help keep it relevant, especially as more people head to sites like Twitter and Facebook to share links and track popular topics.

The Delicious home page now features a category of “Fresh Bookmarks” listing links that are being talked about on Twitter, rather than the previous “Popular Bookmarks,” which listed the most frequently bookmarked links on Delicious. In a blog post, Yahoo Architect Vik Singh explained that the old system had some pitfalls. “You typically found links that had ~100 bookmarks—so more authoritative resources as opposed to fresh news,” he writes. “Additionally, given that the most popular tag on delicious is ‘design’, you probably encountered headlines like ‘100+ Wordpress Themes’ on most days …

For this new Fresh homepage, our system displays recently bookmarked links and tweeted messages focused mostly on technology, web, politics, and media.”

Yahoo is also adding some additional search tools to Delicious, so that users can filter results by general categories and also by date. YouTube videos, Flickr photos, and Yelp entries will also be included in some searches. And users will now be able to e-mail or tweet bookmarks straight from Delicious.

CNN Money — For Ashton Kutcher, winning the race to 1 million followers on Twitter before CNN was not about being victorious in a popularity contest.

Instead, it illustrated that “one individual could have as much influence on a social network as a media conglomerate,” he said at Fortune’s Brainstorm: Tech conference.

He also noted that it signifies a shift in turning media back over to consumers, who are now also content creators and editors. This dynamic “has and will forever change media,” Kutcher said.
