What is Social Bookmarking?
Examiner — If you have been using the internet for any length of time you have probably heard about social bookmarking and you have even used it but you may also be wondering exactly what is it and why should you even bother?
Social bookmarking at its most basic form is the idea of sharing online content with others so that they can share it again with someone else, visit that content and comment on it. Social bookmarking can be used with all kinds of online content: articles, videos, news stories, blog posts, Squidoo lenses and podcasts. You have probably noticed that when you watch a youtube video or read a wordpress blog there are icons near the video or post inviting you to share that video or post. This is social bookmarking.
There are thousands of social bookmarking sites, however, there are really only about four which are the most popular. Although they are all similar and the idea behind them is the same, there are some differences between them.
